Brandon Leaks to join Penn State Hazleton Men's Basketball this fall
Hazleton, Pa. - Brandon Leaks of Philadelphia, Pa. is poised to join the Nittany Lions Men's Basketball team. Leaks, played three seasons at Franklin Towne High School and was captain of the basketball team during his junior and senior seasons. There, Leaks helped the Warriors to a Division Championship and was named to the All-Public Team as a guard on two occasions. Outside the regular basketball season, Brandon participated with the track and field team at Franklin Towne High School and continued to hone his basketball skills with the DPS Success club team based in Mantua, Nj.
"We are excited to have Brandon join our program," said Head Coach Robbie Hopkins. "He is someone who excelled both on the court and in the classroom in high school and is an extremely hard worker. We look forward to seeing Brandon continue to grow and help us in the future."
Leaks received second and first honors academically while attending Franklin Towne High School and plans to continue that his fine academic record while attending Penn State Hazleton. Brandon plans to be a finance major competing with the basketball squad and the ability to compete athletically while earning a Penn State degree was a major factor in his decision to become a Nittany Lion. Brandon's goals for his collegiate career include finishing his degree program with a 3.9 or higher, while becoming a 1,000 point scorer, averaging 20 points and five assists per game and winning a national championship.
