Luke Randall adds his name to Penn State Hazleton Athletics
Hazleton, Pa. - Penn State Hazleton is pleased to welcome Luke Randall of East Stroudsburg, PA to Nittany Lion Athletics for the 2023-24 seasons. Randall, a graduate of East Stroudsburg South High School, is poised to be a multi-sport athlete, competing for the returning PSUAC champion Hazleton golf team as well as the baseball squad. Luke spent just two seasons on the golf squad at East Stroudsburg South, but quickly rose to prominence, captaining his team during his senior season where he averaged in the mid 80's and earning the low round of the year award for his team. On the baseball diamond, Luke spent three years on the varsity team, helping the squad to an appearance in the 2020 East Penn Conference playoffs, earning a team MVP award for pitching as a junior, and co-captaining the team for his final season in uniform. Outside of his high school experience, Luke pitched for the East Stroudsburg Legion Baseball team and was selected as the starting pitcher in the American Legion All-Star Futures game in the summer of 2022.
"One thing that really impressed me about Luke is his drive to achieve success," said Assistant Director of Athletics and Head Golf Coach Ryan Aten. "That attribute, coupled with his natural ability will go a long way towards fulfilling his goals in and out of the classroom. His consistency on the golf course will be a great addition to the golf team and with some improvements in his short-game, Luke has an opportunity to post some excellent scores next season."
As he embarks on his collegiate career, Luke will look to add his name to long list of Penn Staters in the family including his parents Steven and Susan along with his sister Lindsay. For Luke, his goal is compete at a high level athletically while pursuing a degree in Turf-grass Science and wants to join the Navy ROTC program at University Park, potentially pursuing a career in Naval Aviation after receiving his degree.
