SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. -- Penn State Hazleton got back to their recent winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Penn State Schuylkill in a Penn State University Athletic Conference game on Tuesday afternoon. The Nittany Lions' (4-5, 3-4 PSUAC) win is their fourth in the last five games.

Hazleton fell behind 1-0 in the 13th minute, the fourth time they have faced deficit during their current stretch. But once again the Nittany Lions answered as Joseph Torres (Garden City, NY) opened up the scoring for Hazleton by finding the back of the net during the 53rd minute off a Robert Caffray (Coal Springs, Fl.) pass. Steven Principe (Jim Thorpe, Pa.) gave Hazleton the lead for good in the 67th minute off an assist from his brother, Michael Principe (Jim Thorpe, Pa.). The goal is Principe's eighth goal of the season. John Wasserman (Perkasie, Pa.) added a penalty kick in the 89th minute to give the Nittany Lions a two goal cushion at 3-1.

Hazleton outshot their opponents 20-10 on the afternoon, as Logan Yacowatz (Sugarloaf, Pa.) made four saves. Yacowatz has not allowed more than two goals in any of the last five games for the Nittany Lions, including one shutout.

The Nittany Lions return to action on Saturday, October 4 at 2:00 p.m. when they host Penn State Brandywine.
