Hazleton, Pa. - The Nittany Lions Men's Soccer team came out of 2015 with home playoff victory and a semi-final appearance in the Penn State University Athletic Conference postseason. Hazleton ranked third in the PSUAC in goals scored and fourth in goals allowed last season, and with a strong returning core, the Nittany Lions are poised and eager to make a run at the PSUAC title in 2016.
The Nittany Lions will continue to thrill fans with several key rematches slated for 2016. Hazleton earned momentum building non-conference victories last season over Berkeley College of New Jersey and United States Collegiate Athletic Association Championship qualifier SUNY Delhi and will face both again over a four day span in early Septmeber. When conference play begins, fans will want to mark their calendars for September 17 when Hazleton travels west to take on the defending PSUAC champions in Penn State Beaver who eliminated the Lions from the postseason last October. Hazleton will wind down the 2016 regular season with a key home matchup against Penn State Brandywine who shut out the Nittany Lions on the road in 2015 for just their second PSUAC regular season defeat.
We look forward to seeing our fans on the sidelines for what looks to be another outstanding season for Nittany Lion Soccer! Stay tuned to the website for updates on start times and playing locations.
