Lions add to the infield with addition of Ramirez
Hazleton, Pa. – The Lions bolster the lineup with another commit from the Bronx, Ny. in the addition of Arielle Ramirez. Ramirez, a graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School joins the Penn State Hazleton family where she'll pursue a career in Criminal Justice with holding down the middle infield for the Lions.
Ramirez was a top academic student during her time at Cardinal Spellman where she earned an Advanced Regents Diploma and won the top senior athletics award for academics. She graduated with First Honors following her four-year high school career and now looks to add a Penn State degree to her resume.
On the field, Ramirez was a perfect 25 for 25 in total fielding chances and shined as a stolen base threat for the Pilots with a .875 success rate on the base paths. Ramirez picked up 14 hits as a senior on her way to a .669 on base plus slugging percentage, adding nine RBI and 13 runs scored as a senior.
