Hazleton, Pa. - Bethlehem native Jayla Irvin pens her name to become the newest addition to the Lady Lion Softball squad. Irvin graduated from Freedom High School in the spring of 2019 as a three year honor roll student and will initially pursue undergraduate studies at Penn State Hazleton in the fall.

A right-handed third baseman and outfielder, Irvin saw great success at her most recent playing level and will look to continue that trend in the Hazleton lineup. During tournament play last season, Irvin carried a .360 batting average and was nearly flawless defensively on the diamond, toting a .997 fielding percentage which helped her garner multiple MVP awards over her young career.
