Bio

Assistant Softball Coach Mike Graaf volunteered as a coach for the Lady Lions Softball squad under late Head Coach Marty Mrozinski until being named assistant coach for the 2016 season. Graaf has served as a pitching and defensive coach since 2010, coaching numerous Penn State University Athletic Conference award winning players and United States Collegiate Athletic Association All-Americans while guiding the team towards nine consecutive post-season appearances and five USCAA National Championship Tournament appearances.

A Penn State Hazleton alumni, Graaf was the Nittany Lions first four-year starter in baseball from 2006-2009 earning PSUAC All-Conference awards in 2006 and 2007, becoming the program's all-time leader in wins and strikeouts before his playing career ended. Graaf graduated from the campus in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in business.

Coach Graaf pushes his team to strive for a conference title each year and enjoys molding student-athletes, teaching them to learn from every experience and harnessing their talents to achieve success on the field and in the classroom.

Graaf hails from White Haven, Pa. where he lives with his wife Ashley, a former Lady Lion softball player and current volunteer assistant coach with the team.
