York, Pa. - The PSUAC announced the All-Conference women's basketball teams on Sunday prior to the championship contest on the campus of Penn State York. Three Hazleton Lady Lions were honored during the pre-game reception for their outstanding performances during the 2016-17 regular season that helped lead the squad to an 11-3 record in the PSUAC and a third consecutive trip to the conference championship game.
Sophomore PG - McKenzie Prutsman (Jasper, Ny.) - First Team All-Conference
Prutsman was Hazleton's leading scorer throughout the season and ranked sixth in the PSUAC with an average of 16.3 points per game. The sophomore was tops in the league when it came to assist to turnover ratio, ranked fourth overall in total steals and fourth in free throw percentage. Prutsman registered 20 or more points in a game a total of seven time this season including a 34 point effort in the semi-final round of the PSUAC playoffs in a win over Penn State Beaver.
Senior SF - Stephanie Guevara (New Brunswick, Nj.) - Second Team All-Conference
Guevara was one of the most versatile players in the PSUAC. In her senior campaign, Guevara ranked first in the conference in steals, second in total rebounding and second in assists. Guevara averaged a double-double for the season, tallying averages of 12 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. On February 3, Guevara registered her 1,000th career point, becoming the fifth Lady Lion in program history to reach the career milestone.
Sophomore SF - Haley Nalls (York, Pa.) - Honorable Mention
Nalls broke out in her second season as a Lady Lion to become the second leading scorer for Hazleton. The sophomore averaged 14.2 points per game, good for 12th best in the PSUAC and ranked eigth in total rebounding, pulling in 8.8 boards per contest. Nalls reached double figures in the scoring column 20 times in 2016-17 including a season high 28 point performance on January 13 in a win over Penn State Fayette.
