Hazleton, Pa. - Penn State Hazleton is pleased to welcome Jaden Jones to the 2023-24 Nittany Lion Women's Basketball team! Jones played power forward for four seasons with the Falcons of Graham High School in Urbana, Oh., her final two years playing full-time with the varsity squad. Jones is passionate about the game of basketball and is looking forward to meeting and playing with her new teammates next season. But what really drew her to the program was the ethical approach of Coach Onushco and the opportunity to compete for a spot on the court from day one.
"Jaden does a terrific job boxing out and will be a great asset to the program by rebounding at both ends of the court," said Head Coach Jeff Onushco. "Defensively she'll be able to block or alter opponents' shots in and around the paint and she has a keen ability to score in the post on offense. We are very excited to add her talents to the women's basketball program!"
Jones plans to push herself on and off the court, continuing to develop her skills into a top player in the program while pursuing a Penn State degree in criminology or forensic science. When she's not in season, Jaden enjoys the arts, music and playing more sports. "Competing is my way of having fun," said Jaden. "There's a rush that you get from playing team sports and when you're where you belong, doing what you love with good people, there's no better feeling."
