Lions fall to Brandywine 80-51
Penn State Brandywine topped Penn State Hazleton in a college basketball game on January 27, 2024, with a final score of 80-51. The game took place in Hazleton, PA, and saw Penn State Brandywine improve their record to 8-9 overall and 7-5 in conference play, while Penn State Hazleton fell to 1-16 overall and 1-11 in conference play.

This dominant performance continued in the third and fourth quarters, with Penn State Brandywine maintaining their lead and ultimately winning the game by a significant margin.
Amanda Floyd was the top performer for Penn State Brandywine, scoring 17 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. She was supported by Athena Brombacher, who contributed 13 points and 10 rebounds. Dairayonna Stewart-H also had a strong performance off the bench, scoring 13 points.
On the other hand, Penn State Hazleton struggled to keep possessions going on offense Saturday, turning the ball over 39 times in the loss with Costen and Brianna Kennedy ending the game as Hazleton's lone players in double-figures. Kennedy ended the game as Hazleton's leading scorer with 23 points to go along with 18 rebounds, but her efforts were not enough to overcome the dominant performance by Penn State Brandywine. Hazleton will look to right the ship as they remain home on Tuesday, January 30 when the Lions welcome Penn State Lehigh Valley to Hazleton.
