Women's Volleyball falls to Davis College, 3-0, in non-conference tilt

HAZLETON, Pa. -- Penn State Hazleton was bested by Davis College, 3-0 (19-25, 19-25, 22-25), in a non-conference match-up in the Dr. Thomas Caccese Gymnasium on Tuesday night. Davis sweeps the season series from the Nittany Lions, taking their previous match on September 16, also 3-0.

Hazleton (1-17, 1-13 PSUAC) dropped their 14th straight match, including three non-conference games. The Nittany Lions were able to keep within striking distance of the Falcons in each set, but were unable to overcome their deficits in any set. Trailing 22-15 in the third set, Jessenia Wright (Brooklyn, NY) served five consecutive Hazleton points to make it 22-20. Davis held off the rally just in time to secure the set, and the match.

Nieves Alonzo (Hazleton, Pa.) led the Lions with 13 digs and 3 kills. Miranda Dunne (Montrose, Pa.) added 10 assists and an ace as Hazleton had their most productive offensive night since their skid began.

The Nittany Lions return to conference play on Wednesday, October 8 as they travel to Penn State Worthington Scranton for a 7:00 p.m. start.
