Skylar Poelma set to make her mark on Hazleton Volleyball in 2022

Hazleton, Pa. - Penn State Hazleton is pleased to announce the arrival of Skylar Poelma to the 2022-23 Women's Volleyball team. Poelma will graduate from Lake Lehman High School in June and join the Penn State Hazleton family next August after three seasons at the varsity level for the Knights. At Lehman, Poelma ranked as one of the top blockers in the Wyoming Valley Conference, helping her squad to a District II championship game appearance. That effort during the fall of 2021 helped Poelma gain accolades as a Second-Team All-District award recipient and an All-Star in the Wyoming Valley Conference.

"Skylar's talent at the net stands to make a big impact on the 2022 season and beyond, "said head coach Noel Kaufman. "She has a great opportunity to achieve success on the court and in her academics with Penn State and we're thrilled to welcome her to campus in August."

Skylar made the honors society at Lake Lehman High school during her junior and senior years and is eager to continue to challenge herself both athletically and academically to ensure a successful future beyond Penn State. Poelma plans to study Business Management at the campus and plans to enter the field of real estate or become a business broker after receiving her college degree.
