Whitenight earns national honors as PSUAC's top defender
Hazleton, Pa. - After four stellar seasons with the Nittany Lions, senior Isaac Whitenight's (Benton, Pa.) career reached a culmination last weekend with the announcements of the 2019 fall All-Americans. Whitenight was named a first team All-Conference member by the Penn State University Athletic Conference this season, picking up Co-Defensive Player of the Year honors for his work in the Hazleton backfield and now adds United States Collegiate Athletic Association All-American to his list of accomplishments.
Whitenight helmed the Lion defensive unit for the past two seasons was an integral player in Hazleton's two PSUAC championship appearances as a freshman and sophomore. This year, the senior led a defense that allowed two goals or less in eight games including two shutouts. Whitenight's speed and ability to intercept passes saved countless goals this season and became a critical component of Hazleton's set pieces in 2019, scoring a career high three goals for Hazleton.
