Azaria Johnson set to join Hazleton Women's Basketball
Hazleton, Pa. - Azaria Johnson of Richmond Hill, Ga. is just days away from joining her new teammates with the Penn State Hazleton women's basketball program. Johnson, a guard and small forward on the court, played four varsity seasons with the Richmond Hill High School basketball team and served as captain of Wildcats for two of those seasons. In her final two years with the program, Azaria was honored for her efforts, being named a 1st Team All-Region basketball player for Class 6A Region 2.
"Azaria is a very quick, athletic player who excels in the open court", said head coach Jeff Onushco. " She's a solid shooter and the type of player that will exploit defenses and play an up-tempo brand of basketball."
Off the court, Azaria plans to major in Rehabilitation and Humans Services with the eventual goal of opening up a physical therapy practice targeting the needs of children.
