Hazleton freshman earns national honors
Hazleton, Pa. - Emma Wyllie (Benton, Pa.) continues to impress this season and on Tuesday afternoon earned national recognition as the United States Collegiate Athletic Association's Division II women's soccer player of the week. Wyllie had a hand in four of Hazleton's five scores on Saturday afternoon's playoff victory over Penn State Beaver. The freshman scored twice in the first half of the semi-final including a header that went for the game winning score. Wyllie assisted on Hazleton's third score just before halftime and knocked in an insurance goal in the second half to help send Hazleton to the PSUAC championship game. Wyllie's hat trick was a season best upping her total to 12 goals on the season.
