HAZLETON, Pa. -- Penn State Hazleton dropped two matches as part of a Penn State University Athletic Conference quad match in the Dr. Thomas Caccese Gymnasium on Saturday. The Nittany Lions (1-8, 1-5 PSUAC) fell 3-0 to Penn State Fayette and then 3-0 to Penn State New Kensington, as they dropped their sixth straight game.

Fayette jumped out to early leads and held on each set for a 3-0 (8-25, 13-25, 9-25) sweep of the Nittany Lions.
Jacqueline Villaroel (Fairfax, Va.) had Hazleton's only kill of the match, while Tina Beiland (Philadelphia, Pa.) added four digs, a service ace and a block. Fayette held Hazleton to a negative hitting percentage, while hitting .333 themselves.
Kelsey Tyler had a match-high 13 kills and seven service aces, while Emily Konter dished out 22 assists as Fayette improved to 11-4 overall, and 7-0 in the PSUAC.
Penn State New Kensington - 3, Penn State Hazleton - 0
Hazleton hung with New Kensington early, but were unable to grab a lead as the Nittany Lions fell in straight sets, 3-0 (15-25, 12-25, 13-25) in their second match of the day. New Kensington improved to 4-4 overall, and 3-4 in the PSUAC with the win.
Aneesha Reese (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the way for Hazleton with three kills, while Beiland, Villaroel and Miranda Dunne (Montrose, Pa.) each added two kills. Dunne also finished with three assists, two digs and a service ace.
Maria Daugherty and Hanna Perriello paced New Kensington with 15 and 13 kills, respectively. Morgan Ceschini added a match-high 32 assists for the Lions.
Hazleton returns to the court on Sunday, September 28 in a quad match at Penn State Hazleton. This time the Nittany Lions play host to Penn State Beaver and Penn State Greater Allegheny, with Penn State Lehigh Valley rounding out the teams.
