Lions suffer 3-0 defeat on the road at Davis College
Johnson City, Ny. - Penn State Hazleton traveled north to Davis College on Thursday looking to even the score following their defeat at home to the United State Collegiate Athletic Association opponent on September 14. The Lady Lions put up a fight in their second matchup with the Falcons this season but were unable to get past the potent Davis attack, losing in straights sets 3-0.
The Lady Lions surpassed the home team opponent on offense with a .108 hitting percentage to just a .018 total for Davis, but the Falcons accumulated a 36 hit advantage in total attacks to earn the victory over the Lady Lions. Hazleton dropped set one by a score of 19-25, then battled well against Davis in sets two and three, but could not get over the hump, falling by scores of 22-25 in each of the final sets.
Hazleton was led by sophomore Cheyenne Comfort (Landover, Md.) with four kills and three service aces. Junior Miranda Dunne (Montrose, Pa.) passed for 11 assists and two kills on the night.
Leading the Falcon offense were the duo of Alainey Banks and Jessica Haenisch. Banks supplied the Davis attack with 13 kills while Haenisch dished out 14 assists.
