Kyla Harry joins Penn State Hazleton Volleyball
Hazleton, Pa. - Kyla Harry from Exeter, Pa. is ready to suit up for the Hazleton Nittany Lion Volleyball team this fall. Harry played two seasons on the varsity volleyball team at Wyoming Area High School. There, Harry captained the team during her senior season and led the squad with 41 blocks. Kyla also competed on the Lacrosse team at WAHS and helped that program reach the playoffs for three consecutive years to go along with an appearance in the PIAA state playoffs. In the offseason, Kyla continues her volleyball development with the Electric City Volleyball Academy.
"We are very much looking forward to seeing what Kyla can add to our front line," said Head Coach Noel Kaufman. "Kyla brings nothing but positivity and smiles to our group and the team is thrilled to have her as a member of our squad."
Athletics played a big role in Kyla's higher education plans. The opportunity to continue her athletic career in the sport of volleyball while earning a Penn State degree sealed the deal for her decision to attend Penn State Hazleton. Harry plans to pursue a degree in communications with the hope of one day becoming a publisher. On the court, Kyla wants to continue to improve her game while helping the Lions make a run towards a PSUAC Championship.
