Hazleton, Pa. - Senior Robbie Hopkins (Mountain Top, Pa.) closes out his four-year career at Hazleton as one of the Penn State University Athletic Conference's top point guards. Hopkins closed out the regular season with the highest assist rate per game, averaging 4.6 dimes per game. Hopkins holds the highest assist to turnover rate of any player in the league and the second fewest turnover rate of any player logging 30 or more minutes per game. He topped double figures in the scoring column on seven occasions this season as Hazleton's third leading scorer including a season-high 25 points at Mont Alto, vaulting the senior to his first career player of the week honor from the PSUAC.
Hopkins recorded 759 points, 349 assists and 113 steals over the course of his four years in a Nittany Lion uniform, playing a critical role in the Hazleton squad making the PSUAC post-season for three consecutive seasons. Rarely leaving the court, Hopkins totaled over 3,000 minutes of court time and leaves a lasting legacy as a leader and floor general for the Hazleton men's basketball program.
