Hazleton cleaned up the receive game to an extent but continued to encounter passing difficulty as Wilkes racked up nearly 25 percent of their scores throughout the match via the serve.
Hazleton newcomers Payton Fogarty and Abby Bessoir stood out on the offensive side for the Lady Lions, combining for all six of the Hazleton kills Friday night, with the 2018 PSUAC eastern division setter of the year, Alessandra Banta doing the bulk of the distributing.
Hazleton will get a full week of practice in following the Labor Day holiday before taking the court again. The Lions will host NCAA Division III King's College on Monday, September 9 in the Dr. Thomas M. Cacess Gymnasium at 6:00 p.m.
