Hazleton falls in the three sets at Schuylkill
Schuylkill Haven, Pa. - Wednesday night was a tough one for the Nittany Lions as they hit the road to face Penn State Schuylkill. After challenging their local rival in a trio of close games during their first meeting of the season, Schuylkill took full advantage of their home court to sweep Hazleton by large margins. Hazleton struggled to challenge Schuylkill attacks at the net leading to a 36-5 ratio in favor of Schuylkill in the kills column and the home squad added ten service aces during the course of play to easily overtake the Lions by scores of 25-11, 25-8 and 25-11.
Leading all hitters in the game was Schuylkill's Maddy Robinson who totaled 10 kills on 16 attacks. Sydney Morton added eight kills to her credit, all courtesy of Ava Seltzer who issued a game high 26 assists in the win for Schuylkill. Hazleton was led by Alessandra Banta (Coatesville, Pa.) who notched a pair of kills and three assists in the losing effort.
Next up: Hazleton will look to get back in the win column this Friday when the team travels to Penn State Scranton for a 7:00 p.m. PSUAC contest.
