Baseball's 4-0 run earns Varner and Glass PSUAC Player of the Week honors
Hazleton, Pa. - Freshman Eric Varner (Berwick, Pa.) and junior Aaron Glass (Shippensburg, Pa.) were named players of the week by the Penn State University Athletic Conference. Both players helped lead the squad to a 4-0 record last week with two-game sweeps over Summit University and the University of Valley Forge.
#3 Eric Varner - The freshman pitcher tossed four no-hit innings on Thursday, March at the University of Valley Forge. Varner struck out three Patriot hitters and did not allow a base runner as the Nittany Lions pulled away for a 26-8 victory, Varner's first win of the season.
#25 Aaron Glass - The junior catcher had a great week at the dish, notching 7 hits in 11 at bats versus Summit University and the University of Valley Forge. Through the four game stretch, Glass drove in six runners for Hazleton while scoring four times himself. Glass himself swiped three bases during the week and threw out two opposing base runners from behind the plate.
