Hazleton, Pa. - Edward "Eddie" Wess is all set to continue his career on the baseball diamond next season for the Hazleton Nittany Lions. Wess recently graduated from Notre Dame Jr./Sr. High School in East Stroudsburg, Pa. where he was a National Honor Society student.
Eddie will enter his collegiate career in the Honors Program at Penn State Hazleton, eyeing a degree in Business from the University. "I am looking forward to the research and experiences leading me to a career path. Ultimately, my goal would lead me to a career in the front office of the New York Yankees.", said Wess. "Hazleton felt like home to me. From admissions to the coaches, everyone made me feel like a part of the Penn State family. Having the opportunity to be a multi-position player for the Nittany Lions was definitely the icing on the cake."
Wess was a four-year member of the Spartan baseball squad at Notre Dame as a pitcher and outfielder, and captain of the team during his junior and senior years. Eddie also plays for the 2020 Knights Showcase team at the In The Zone Sports Academy in Flanders, New Jersey. Like millions of other high school athletes around the country, Eddie's senior year was cut short but he's eager to get back on the diamond. Using the down time to study the game and train every day, Wess looks to make an immediate impact in the Hazleton uniform as soon as play resumes.
