Nittany Lion Basketball welcomes Joey Dunstone
Hazleton, Pa. - Penn State Hazleton Men's Basketball lands Joseph "Joey D" Dunstone from Greenfield Township, Pa. for the 2023-24 season. The Lakeland High School graduate joins the Nittany Lions after three seasons on the varsity basketball team. As a senior, Dunstone captained the Chiefs while he connected on 40 triples and shot nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc. In addition to his time on the court, Joey won a district title in football as a sophomore at Lakeland and competed in track and field with the Chiefs as a senior. In the offseason, Dunstone continued to develop his basketball skills with the Hoop-Head AAU squad.
Head Coach Jeff Rush shared his excitement about Dunstone's arrival stating, "Joey is a high character young man with a tremendous ability to shoot the basketball. We are very happy to have him join the program and look forward to seeing him in action."
Dunstone is thrilled for the opportunity ahead of him after years of hard work with the goal of competing at the collegiate level. Joey plans to contribute in a positive way right out of the gate as the Nittany Lions embark on a quest for a conference title. Joey plans to major in Business while attending Penn State with the hopes of becoming an entrepreneur in the future, helping other athletes achieve their goals.
