Morzilla Leads Hazleton to Second Place Finish At PSU Schuylkill Invitational

BARNESVILLE, Pa. -- Penn State Hazleton's Ty Morzilla finished second on Thursday at the Penn State Schuylkill Golf Invitational at Mountain Valley Golf Course.

Morzilla posted a his third top two finish of the season, carding an eight-over 80 on the Mountain Course. Morzilla won the previous two events at both Penn State New Kensington and Penn State DuBois, where he tied for first.

Hazleton's Gary Hunt finished tied for 10th at Mountain Valley with an 88, while Ryan Stashko finished a shot out of the top-10, carding an 89.

Hazleton finished second in team scoring for the second consecutive event, following their runner-up finish at the Penn State DuBois Invitational on Sept. 8. The Nittany Lions' team total of 347 was seven shots off the pace of Penn State Lehigh Valley, who captured the team title with four scores between 83 and 88.

Morzilla leads the PSUAC in scoring average at 78.3 strokes per round.

Hazleton returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at Irem Country Club in Dallas, Pa. for the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Invitational.
