David Simons joins the Nittany Lions
Hazleton, Pa. - David Simons of Freehold, Nj. will be a Nittany Lion in the fall of 2020! Simons, the son of Kerri and Jeremy Simons is all set to join the Penn State Hazleton Golf and Baseball teams when the new semester rolls around, while pursuing a degree in Business. "My aunt and uncle are alumni from the Hazleton and University Park campuses and always spoke about participation in athletics," Simons stated. "I'm really excited to be able to pursue my academics with honors while being able to play the sports that I have always enjoyed and do it at the collegiate level."
Simons is a former member of the KAOS travel baseball team in New Jersey who won the 2017 USABL Championships but it's in the golf arena that Simons sees a pathway to a career. David was a three-year member of the Freehold Township High School golf team, formerly placing third in the Shore Conference Tournament and looks to become a leader down the road for Penn State Hazleton. While studying Business, Simons looks to focus on the areas of Sport Management and Corporate Communications, eventually moving on to a career in professional golf management.
