Rebarchick notches 3rd top Five Finish of 2024 at Penn National
Mont Alto, Pa. - The Nittany Lions secured their best finish of the season on Wednesday, landing in second place at the Penn State Mont Alto Invitational on the Founder's Course at Penn National Golf Club. Leading Hazleton's efforts for the third straight match was fourth year player Joey Rebarchick who finished in a tie for third place, his best of three top 5 efforts in 2024.
Rebarchick cruised through the front nine at the Founder's Course but hiccup on the par 3, ninth hole dropped him back to even par through the first half of the event and an unfortunate lie on the 10th hole derailed his efforts to challenge for the lead, but the former USCAA All-American ground his way through the difficult back nine to finish at +6 for the day in a tie for third place. Third year player Grant Culbert bounced back after a difficult start to the season to shoot an 81, while second year player Bobby Kaufman and first year player Jake Babinchak rounded out the team scoring with rounds of 87. In total, Hazleton finished the day with a team score of 333, good for second place behind the home squad, Penn State Mont Alto who led the pack with a 314 collective score.
