Venditti earns PSUAC Player of the Week Honors
Hazleton, Pa. - Senior forward Kyle Venditti (Berwick, Pa.) has been named player of the week by the Penn State University Athletic Conference for the week of August 30 - September 5. The former United States Collegiate Athletic Association All-American's stellar play helped lead the Lions to a 1-1 record last week in non-conference play, notching 12 points in two games over that stretch.
On September 1, in the squad's first action of the season at Davis College, Venditti lit up the scoreboard with a first half hat trick, adding a pair of assists in the process to give Hazleton a robust first half lead. The senior would add another assist in the second half as the Lions went on to top the Falcons 11-2.
Two days later in Hazleton's home opener against SUNY Delhi, Venditti led a second half charge facing a two goal deficit. The senior assisted on Hazleton's first score of the game, then knocked in a penalty kick to tie the score at 2-2 before ultimately falling to the Broncos by the score of 3-2.
