Hazleton, Pa. - The Nittany Lions fell to 1-8-2 on the season following Wednesday night's 8-0 home loss to Penn State Brandywine.
The Lions were forced to play in their own half of the field for nearly the entire match on Wednesday. Brandywine got off to a fast start, netting two goals in the first 14 minutes of action. The visitors tacked on a third goal midway through the period and closed out the half with two additional scores with less than five minutes to play in the period. Hazleton kept Brandywine off the board for nearly 30 minutes in the second half but a flurry of late goals closed out the match as Brandywine cruised to their seventh conference victory of the season. Hazleton was out shot in this 21-0 in shots on goal leading to the lop-sided loss.
Next up: Hazleton will need to run the table next week to keep their playoff hopes alive. Hazleton kicks off the important week with their final non-conference game of the season, a rescheduled game with Delware Valley University on Monday, October 14 at 7:00 p.m.
