Tyler Furedi hits the pitch in 2023 for the Hazleton Nittany Lions
Hazleton, Pa. - Crestwood Area High School graduate Tyler Furedi is set to hit the pitch with the Hazleton Nittany Lion soccer team this fall. Furedi, a skilled player at both ends of the field played several years at the center back position for the Comets before he transitioned to a striker midway through his fourth year with the varsity team at Crestwood. After making the switch to offense, the two-time team captain proceeded to score 19 goals for the Comets in 2022-23. For his career, Furedi was named a Wyoming Valley Conference All-Star in all four seasons including three first team awards and helped Crestwood to a pair of District II championships. In addition to his accolades for the Crestwood soccer team, Furedi also went undefeated in matches as a member of the tennis team and continues to play soccer in the offseason with Nitro Electric Shock.
Academically, Tyler graduated with high academic standing at Crestwood as a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society while being while being named the Nardone Award winner for 2022 which recognizes a soccer player who exemplifies leadership, integrity, and excellence on and off the field. Expect no less as Tyler begins his career with the Hazleton Nittany Lions. Tyler is excited for the opportunity to continue his soccer career while pursuing a degree in computer science from the university.
