Four Nittany Lions earn end of season awards
Hazleton, Pa. - With 2024 spring season coming to a close, four Nittany Lion Softball players earned recognition for their play this season. Tori Rabuck and Amy Dwojewski were named to the PSUAC All-Conference Team along with Linsey Fisk and Ashley Wilson who earned USCAA All-American status in addition to being named to the PSUAC All-Conference squad.
Linsey Fisk (Millville, Pa.) 2nd Team USCAA All-American/PSUAC Honorable Mention All-Conference Catcher - Fisk finished up her career this spring in tremendous fashion, having one of her best seasons ever at the plate. The fourth year player's career came to a close in the first round of the PSUAC postseason leaving Fisk with a .488 batting average, the sixth highest batting average in the USCAA. Fisk added four home runs and 36 RBI's this season, both of which led the team. In total, Linsey collected 42 hits on the season, joining the 100 hit club on March 29, and went for 14 extra base hits this season giving her a .744 slugging percentage.
Ashley Wilson (Cresco, Pa.) 2nd Team USCAA All-American/PSUAC Honorable Mention All-Conference Outfielder - Wilson was back to form in 2024, raking in 39 hits for the Nittany Lions this season. The third year player joined the 100 hit club on April 20 and finished the year with a .402 batting average. Wilson led the team in runs scored with 31 and ranked second on the team with 24 RBI, adding eight doubles, four triples and one home run for the season. Ashley also strung together a 16 game hitting streak midway through the season and committed just two errors all season as the starting centerfielder for Hazleton.
Tori Rabuck (Tower City, Pa.) Honorable Mention All-Conference Infielder - For the third consecutive year, Tori Rabuck earns a spot on the PSUAC All-Conference Softball Team. In 2024, Rabuck hit .403 with two home runs and 24 RBI to earn recognition as one of the top infielders in the PSUAC. Rabuck had eight multi-hit games, including six extra-base hits to help the Lions get back into the post season in 2024.
Amy Dwojewski (Lehighton, Pa.) Honorable Mention All-Conference Utility Player - Dwojewski excelled as both an outfielder and an infielder for the Hazleton Nittany Lions in 2024 and displayed great ability to play virtually anywhere on the diamond. Dwojewski committed just three fielding miscues all season while playing in all 28 games for Hazleton. At the plate, the first year player was one of the Lions top hitters at the top of the batting order, hitting .323 for the season with 18 RBI and 23 runs scored.
