Ehlauna Penn set to kick off the 2023-24 Women's Soccer season
Hazleton, Pa. - With the 2023-24 season on the horizon, Ehlauna Penn is ready to hit the pitch for the Halzeton Nittany Lion Women's Soccer team. Penn joins the squad as a first-year student-athlete from Jim Thorpe, Pa. where she competed in soccer, track, wrestling and cross country for the Olympians at Jim Thorpe Area High School. Penn served as a defensive player for the Olympians for four years, helping the Jim Thorpe squad to the 2022 Schuylkill League championship and earning a spot as a division one defensive all-star.
Outside of high school, Penn continued her love for the game of soccer, competing with the West End Club Soccer team. There she served as the team captain and took the club squad to a first place finish in the U18 Elite Development Program Championships.
Ehlauna is motivated and driven to succeed in her collegiate career on and off the field and came to Penn State and the Hazleton campus because of those shared values. Academically, Ehlauna was a recognized member of the National Honor Society, the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society and has been recognized through the President's Education Awards Program for her academic excellence. While at Penn State, Ehlauna plans to be a double-major, seeking degrees in Architectural Engineering and Architectural Design with the goal of designing and building homes and structures to withstand natural disasters and the ever-changing environment.
