Lauren Witmeyer Makes Commitment To Play Volleyball At Penn State Hazleton
Lebanon, PA native, Lauren Witmeyer has signed her letter of intent to attend Penn State Hazleton to continue her academic and athletic careers as part of the Volleyball Program.
The Hazleton Nittany Lion Volleyball team solidifies their roster with the addition of Defensive Specialist and Opposite Hitter Lauren Witmeyer to the 2022-23 roster. Witmeyer is a resident of Lebanon, PA and is a reccent graduate of Cedar Crest High School. She is the daughter of Chris and Holly WItmeyer.
Witmeyer lettered for three years playing DS/OP at Cedar Crest. Additionally she also plays Volleyball for Prevail Volleyball Club, Central Volleyball Club, and Controlled Chaos Volleyball Club where she was named their Most Improved Player. While at Cedar Crest, Witmeyer was a member of the National Technical Honor Society and the Bronze Honors Membership.
Head coach Noel Kaufman states. "Lauren is a talented and athletic yourn lady who will be able to help our club tremendously." "She hustles and gets all over the court, communicates well to help her teammates with the flow of the game, and can play front row when needed - I look forward to seeing her in action on the floor here at Haleton!"
Witmeyer plans to major in one of the most competetive academic programs here at Penn State Hazleton, the Physical Therapy Assisting Program. Her decision to choose and commit to Penn State was an easy one as it had the combination of her desired major and offered her an opportunity to extend her volleyball career. When she is not playing volleyball, Lauren loves to workout at the gym, paint, and hike.
