Ava Giannini suits up for Penn State Hazleton Volleyball
Hazleton, Pa. - Ava Giannini of Blandon, Pa. is all set to join the Penn State Hazleton Volleyball team this fall. Giannini is a graduate of Fleetwood Area High School where she competed with the varsity volleyball team as a middle hitter and in the off-season, Giannini competed with the Fleetwod Surge club team where she competed in the 2022 Junior National Tournament. Giannini really found her passion for the game around her junior year in high school where she learned some valuable lesson about the game and life, making her want to pursue a collegiate career in the sport.
"We are thrilled to have signed Ava to the Penn State Hazleton family," said Head Coach Noel Kaufman. "She brings a hard working mentality, dedication and commitment to the sport. Both myself and Asst. Coach Fallabel are excited to see her growth on the volleyball court this coming fall."
Ava will begin her Penn State career this coming fall where she'll also begin her academic career in the Physical Therapist Assistant program. Giannini goals for her first year include, making new friends, improving her skills in the game of volleyball by learning new techniques and helping the team back to the PSUAC playoffs, and finding new ways to study to be successful in her degree program. Ava plans to complete her degree to become a PTA and then pursue a Bachelor's degree in Business Management.
